Abstract
Purpose: This study was to compare and analyze the measured degrees of toric soft lens rotation with astigmatic fan chart by fogging test and slit lamp, and we wanted to identify if it is useful to evaluate toric soft lens rotation with astigmatic fan chart.

Method: Toric soft lenses were fitted on 58 astigmatic eyes. We measured the degrees of toric soft lens rotation with astigmatic fan chart, and compared with the measured degrees of toric soft lens rotation with slit lamp on the same subjects.

Result: The measured degrees of toric soft lens rotation with astigmatic fan chart and slit lamp showed were 12.93¡¾4.59? and 9.68¡¾4.39?, respectively showing that there was statistically significant difference between 2 different methods(p<0.05). If the measured degrees of toric soft lens rotation in a range of less than 10? with astigmatic fan chart were compared with that of toric soft lens rotation with slit lamp on the same subjects, that of lens rotation with slit lamp was 7.26¡¾1.31? and included in that of lens rotation in a range of less than 10?. Likewise if the measured degrees of toric soft lens rotation in a range of between 11? and 20? with astigmatic fan chart were compared with that of toric soft lens rotation with slit lamp on the same subjects, that of lens rotation by slit lamp was 15.53¡¾3.60?, and included in that of lens rotation in a range of between 11? and 20?.

Conclusion: It is considered that measuring the amount of toric soft lens rotation with astigmatic fan chart by fogging test were useful to classify the amount of lens rotation in a range of less than 10? and 11?-20?.
